Gentle laundry drying with dehumidifiers

Apart from ambient air dehumidification, a dehumidifier can be conveniently used for drying laundry – either in an assisting way or as a full replacement for a conventional dryer. The laundry drying function (also referred to as clothes drying mode or SuperDry function) is comparable to traditional air drying outside.

Dehumidifiers offer the benefit of drying the laundry as gently as in the nature outside. Colours retain their brilliance and the life span of clothes is longer than with conventional dryers – and all this with a substantially lower power consumption.

Furthermore, even sensitive materials such as wool, silk or synthetic fibres can be dried without any problems. In contrast to pure air drying, the laundry feels much softer and more pleasant on your skin.

Laundry drying can also be performed with dehumidifiers without an additional laundry drying function. The target value of the air humidity must then be set in accordance with the desired residual humidity:

Cupboard dry: 46 % of relative air humidity

Iron dry: 58 % of relative air humidity

Skin dry: 65 % of relative air humidity

Propane (R290) as environmentally friendly refrigerant in dehumidifiers

Every year, several million tonnes of environmentally harmful CO₂emissions (greenhouse gases) are emitted into the air by synthetic refrigerants. For this reason, the utilization of alternative refrigerants has become one of our key objectives. By using propane (R290) as refrigerant, this dehumidifier makes a valuable contribution to protecting our climate.

The natural refrigerant propane (R290) is an organic compound belonging to the group of hydrocarbons. Unlike synthetic refrigerants the environmentally friendly propane (R290) comes with neither ozone depletion potential (ODP = 0) nor a noteworthy greenhouse effect (GWP = 3).

Additional bonus for the environment: Owing to its excellent thermodynamic properties, propane (R290) is a particularly energy-efficient refrigerant thereby additionally reducing your energy costs.

Space-saving design, easy handling and convincing functions

Moreover, the dehumidifier TTK 26 E has all the necessary comfort equipment features permitting its unattended operation: these include the electronic automatic defrost system, the filling level warning light indicating a full water tank and the overflow protection with automatic switch-off function.

The TTK 26 E can even be applied where regular manual emptying of the water tank cannot always be conveniently effected such as in heated basements or a holiday home. For it is equipped with an integrated separate hose connection through which the condensate can directly be discharged into a drain. The washable air filter and a convenient carrying handle for simple operating site changes complete the equipment of this comfort dehumidifier.

TTK 26 E – special equipment features

TTK 26 E control panel — The operating panel of the TTK 26 E is provided with a clear design and is easy to understand.

TTK 26 E air filter — The easily removable air filter retains lint and animal hair and can be quickly and easily wiped or washed out.

TTK 26 E water tank — The removable water tank is provided with a storage capacity of 1.8 litres and a fill level window. The device stops automatically when the tank is full and indicates this via LED.

TTK 26 E rear view — In order to continuously drain the condensation water, a pipe can be connected on the rear of the device.

TTK 26 E - condensate drain — A hose can be connected to the back of the device to allow the condensed water to run off continuously.

TTK 26 E - work area — This compact dehumidifier TTK 26 E continuously works in a range between 20 and 80 % RH and can be switched on via the clearly structured control panel.

TTK 26 E – functions — When the desired humidity level is reached, the compressor switches off automatically. The fan keeps running while the display remains switched on. When the value is exceeded, the device is automatically activated.

TTK 26 E – drying laundry — The TTK 26 E may also be used as a room air laundry dryer to dry wet laundry in living spaces or utility rooms. In this way, you speed up the drying process of the clothes and prevent the humidity contained on the clothes from condensing in the room and from becoming a hotbed for mould.

TTK 26 E – permanent mode — In the permanent mode, the TTK 26 E dehumidifies the room air in continuous operation. This is especially suitable for cellar or storage spaces which are subjected to mould formation by excess humidity. To avoid that you constantly have to drain the water tank, a condensate drain hose can be connected.

TTK 26 E – quick transport to the required location — The device is equipped with a convenient foldable transport handle. This and the plug holder on the rear of the TTK 26 E enable a particularly simple and comfortable change of location.

TTK 26 E - office — Whether at home, in the office or in the bedroom - the TTK 26 E dehumidifier ensures an optimal room climate at all times through automatic control of the entered humidity value, display of the relative humidity, laundry drying function and timer.

Save electricity and money on dehumidification

With our socket hygrostat BH30 you can additionally save money when dehumidifying damp rooms or keeping rooms dry. The programmable switch is simply plugged in between the dehumidifier and socket to regulate the dehumidification process based on the measured humidity level.

Once the desired target humidity is reached, the hygrostat disconnects the device from the mains until dehumidification is required again. By switching off the compressor and fan during standby times, the device's energy consumption is noticeably reduced.

The initial acquisition costs of the BH30 will have been amortized in a minimum of time.

Moreover, many dehumidifiers only offer rough target value setting for optimum humidity. The hygrostat BH30 allows the room humidity level to be adjusted in increments of 1 % from 20 % to 90 % and thus offers significantly more precise target humidity selection.
