Insulation drying unit VX 5 MultiQube
The new standard with patented Trotec technology – one for all and lots more...
Which device is suited for which type of drying? Already with the previous model this issue was a thing of the past, for the unique adaptronic power control of the VX 5 renders thinking in equipment classes virtually redundant:
The VX 5's three-step variable turbo engine achieves up to 20,000 rpm and guarantees maximum efficiency at any power level, because due to the integrated HiDry automatism the current volumetric flow is recorded continually in m³ and the VX 5 is automatically regulated to the optimum air flow rate.
At the touch of a button the device switches either into a higher performance class or, if required, into the additionally available whisper mode.
Performance-optimized energy consumption
Unlike conventional side channel compressor turbines, the VX 5 MultiQube turbo engine's output and power consumption are always linear and directly interrelated:
When the power stage is cut back or the counter-pressure decreases, the power consumption is equally reduced. Plus the performance control is not effected based on resistance, but geared to the required volumetric flow.
Due to this technique, the VX 5, compared to side channel compressors, works more or less at the energy-saving eco tariff, especially during the final drying phase.
Always just as much power as you need:
- Power stage 1:
Corresponds to the output of a 0.8 kW side channel compressor. - Power stage 2:
The VX 5 is approx. 10 % more powerful than a side channel compressor with 1.1 to 1.3 kW. - Power stage 3:
Corresponds to 140 % of the output of a 1.1 kW to 1.3 kW side channel compressor and to 80 % of the performance of a 3 kW side channel compressor.

HiDry automatism
Fully automatically always the most efficient drying performance
Immense strength alone does not amount to very much without a clever power control.
Quite on the contrary: If used excessively, nothing but wear and power consumption increase. Nothing else. For much less than the applied motor power it is rather a consistent air passage through the insulation layer areas to be dried that makes the crucial difference between failure and success of accelerated drying.
Therefore, the new VX 5 comes equipped with the innovative HiDry automatic control system, which adjusts the performance not based on the resistance, but on volumetric flow, and so automatically ensures the most efficient performance in each stage for every drying installation.
Much like a "cruise control" in a car, the sensor-supported HiDry automatism dynamically and continuously adjusts the volumetric flow rate of the VX 5 to the preset optimum value of the respective power stage.
Whilst at the beginning of the drying process more motor power is required to maintain the volumetric flow at a relatively high resistance, the need for power falls continuously as the drying proceeds.
Over the entire drying period the HiDry automatism ensures that the VX motor does not generate more power than needed to maintain the optimum volumetric flow. The result: The quickest possible drying at minimum energy input!
Optiflow NT multi-function display
Illumination brought to a new dimension
Not only the current operating status and volumetric flow can be read from the Optiflow NT multi-function display as plain text – also in the dark or from a distance –the colour of the display illumination also automatically indicates how effectively the drying air can flow through the insulation layer of your installation.
A green display confirms optimum volumetric flow, orange indicates thresholds and with a red LED the air flow rate is insufficient for the area, so that installation optimization is needed for quicker drying.
Non-wearing touchscreen control panel
Robust ABS housing on the outside, state-of-the-art electronics on the inside. Sums up to convenient handling by touch. No controller, no wear. A soft touch on the corresponding function's symbol is all it takes to configure your VX 5.
In addition to the Plus and Minus keys for a quick selection of the power stage, the neatly arranged control panel further accommodates a function for the combined digital display of power consumption and operating hours as well as an extra whisper mode.
DA-4 interface
Data networking made easy
The VX 5 already comes with an interface for data exchange with the latest generation of our drying control unit DA 4 M. The combination of both units enables the cross-linkage of all device data incl. real-time remote monitoring of system status and drying progress.
VX-5 whisper mode
Strength lies in quiet
In whisper mode the VX 5 is particularly silent, yet efficient.
For sound level reduction is not simply effected by reducing the power, but by regulating it with noise-optimized emphasis to the optimum volumetric flow of power stage 1.
Once activated, the VX 5 operates in whisper mode for ten hours and then automatically switches back to the previously used power stage.
Enormously handy for customers requiring maximally silenced background noise for a short time.
VX turbo engine – high-revving and ultraflexible
The VX 5's three-step variable special turbo engine revolves at up to 20,000 rpm and at the same time guarantees optimum pressure values at any power level.
Sturdy motor control electronics ensure that this insulation dryer never overheats, not even in threshold ranges. For cooling purposes the VX 5 is also equipped with air inlet openings in the lower housing cover.
Filtering of the sucked-in cooling air is effected by two fine particulate air filters of class F8 according to DIN EN 779. These can quickly be replaced via the filter cover at the side of the gadget.
Integrated value protection for you and your customers
We as manufacturer care about the fact that the condenser dryers used for water damage restoration often have to be replaced much too soon for process-related reasons, hence the VX 5 comes with an integrated automatic thermal protection switch-off at too high air temperatures. It not only protects insulation dryers and installed dehumidifiers against premature failure, but also your customer's rooms and premises from thermal damage at furniture and building structure.
