The Trotec TTSL® platform for water damage restoration companies
Sensor-sensor-supported drying: Our system solution for telemonitoring, analysis and documentation of all your devices and drying installations
Mobile, modular, multifunctional – a platform for all drying installations and devices
Successful water damage restoration companies have to efficiently meet the economic framework conditions of insurance as well as the technical challenges of the event of damage and furthermore the comfort requirements of the damaged party. Satisfaction of the claim in practice will then usually involve data-supported optimisation and monitoring of the drying process. For this purpose we have designed the TTSL® platform:
Sensor-supported drying – TTSL® makes a large variety of different sensor data available at any site quickly and easily – without any specialist expertise being required, without the need for a fully-fledged company network and tedious IoT projects.
This system with its variable uses enables water damage restoration companies to telemonitor all active construction sites immediately. With TTSL®, the climate data can be called on site from the office PC or via app, power consumption data can be recorded, drying processes analysed, archived and documented.
TTSL® accepts all monitoring tasks of your drying installations, alerts you around the clock in the event of any problems and automatically indicates that the drying process has been completed and the devices can be dismounted – this makes cost-intensive intermediate measurements by service technicians redundant. In addition, the system can output an alarm message immediately in the event of a machine standstill or power failure.
TTSL® brings everything so close to you that you’ll almost think you’re there to experience it for yourself!
Via the cloud application MultiMeasure centre, yourself and your authorised employees always have all installations and processes in view from any terminal device and can generate professional process reports for customers and insurances. And by means of TTSL® MultiStat, devices connected to TTSL® can also be switched on or off directly via cloud.
With TTSL®, water damage restoration companies can immediately
benefit from many time- and cost-saving advantages:
- Sensor-sensor-supported drying: The central cloud platform allows for rapid data access
to all drying installations – anytime and from any location - Remote monitoring saves you unnecessary service calls for cost-intensive on-site inspection visits or intermediate measurements by technical staff
- Via cloud application you can document the drying process easily and seamlessly
- The permanent recording of measured data allows you to precisely switch off the drying devices – in this way, unnecessary consumption of electricity is prevented and the devices are not bound in the damaged property longer than necessary and are punctually available again to be used in other properties
Sensor-supported drying with TTSL®
The TTSL® platform allows for flexible application scenarios by just using plug & play for telemonitoring, telecontrol, analysis and documentation of your devices and drying processes.
The example installation on the left shows the sample use of various TTSL components in a screed insulation layer drying process.
By means of flat electrodes in the edge joint and a TTSL borehole probe, the moisture penetration level of the screed insulation layer is recorded.
A combined sensor that is placed freely in the room determines the room air temperature and humidity level.
By means of measurement boxes, all sensors are connected to the central communication box TTSL-CB that enables the data exchange with the cloud application MultiMeasure centre via which you can rapidly retrieve all measured values and device information via PC or smartphone anytime.
And thanks to the modular design of TTSL®, large and small construction sites can be equipped with it flexibly in equal measure. If necessary, just expand the installation with the required TTSL® components.
How does TTSL® work?
TTSL® sensors can record a variety of measured variables directly on site. For connection of the sensors specifically required for a project, various sensor boxes with specific interfaces are provided. The sensor boxes are connected to the TTSL gateway via cables. At regular intervals, the data recorded are transmitted via GSM to the Trotec cloud application MultiMeasure centre, which can be called by means of the desktop PC or app. The MultiMeasure centre can also serve to transmit remote commands to the TTSL gateway, for example updated alarm limit values or requests for machine switch-off.
Schematic view of a TTSL installation
Basic installation:
The centrepiece of the TTSL basic installation is provided by the TTSL® CB (Communication Bridge). The TTSL® CB comes equipped with all interfaces for connecting the TTSL®-SB sensor boxes required and for GSM data transmission to the cloud. For collecting data on just one measuring site, the use of one single TTSL® CB is sufficient.
Enhanced installation:
If several measuring sites are to be monitored, one or several TTSL® MB are additionally installed and connected to the sensor system required. In this case, the TTSL® MB serves as a data logger for measured value data logging of the sensors connected. At freely definable intervals, each TTSL® MB transmits its data via ISM radio to the TTSL® CB installed, which collects any data of all TTSL® MB and automatically sends them to the cloud.
Simple installation and start-up
All TTSL® components are provided with a QR code that can be read in via MultiMeasure centre app. In this course, each box and each sensor can be individually named, and the whole installation can be assigned to a project. Once all data have been stored, the system is ready for use.
All TTSL® components at a glance:
MultiMeasure centre
Your control centre in the cloud for all TTSL installations and users
With the cloud application MultiMeasure centre, you always have all installations and processes in view from any terminal device and can generate professional process reports for customers and insurances.
MultiMeasure centre lists all existing projects that can be created, configured, analysed and archived. The project view shows you all corresponding measurement and sensor boxes as well as the sensor types connected at a glance. In the MultiMeasure centre, all meta data for your projects can be stored, in addition to the components installed, this can also include the site, project team members or the projected period of time.
All your project data are stored safety and in cryptographically secured condition in the cloud. The data of completed projects also remain available to you for as long as you wish.
If the machinery installed on site is connected to the power supply via TTSL® MultiStat, not only the operating status or power consumption can be monitored, if required you can also switch the machinery connected via MultiMeasure centre on and off according to your needs.
Clear analysis of measured data – well-thought-out alarm management
With the MultiMeasure centre you can monitor the streams of measured data of all sensors installed in the project over time, zoom the detailed view in and out, or limit the representation to desired periods of time. And the elaborate alarm management of the TTSL® system not only enables users to define individual threshold values for each sensor measurand, automatically generating an alarm message when these threshold values are exceeded or not reached.
Furthermore, the alarm messages can also be sent to various or several message recipients – even across projects –in individual escalation steps when different threshold values are reached.
Multi-client system
All measurement data are sent to the cloud by wireless transmission at defined intervals via mobile network (GSM) and can be called via PC or app client and analysed, documented for customers or shared with colleagues and customers by SenseShare.
Furthermore, MultiMeasure centre is designed to handle a great number of clients, the integrated customer and user management functionality thus not only allowing for flexible management and project assignment of different employees, but also for the administration of subprojects for individual customers and providing them with individual user rights.
MultiMeasure centre client app
The smart cloud connection to all your TTSL installations
With the client app, TTSL® installations can be easily configured on the spot and transferred to the cloud. For this purpose, all TTSL® measuring and sensor boxes are equipped with an individual QR code which is simply read in via the app. In this course, the individual components can then be named, assigned to projects, or new projects can be created, as desired.
Furthermore, authorised users can access the current project data or machine statuses from anywhere and at any time, process sequences can be monitored and changes to projects can be made.
TTSL® CB
The communication centre to the cloud
As a communication interface to the cloud, the TTSL® CB (Communication Bridge) manages all TTSL® components connected, serves as a buffer to collect all measured data recorded and automatically sends these data to the cloud.
A simple 4-key control allows for configuration of the TTSL® CB quickly and without any difficulty. The integrated display with its integrated four-colour background illumination providing for a quick, optical response of the operating status ensures a high-contrast indication even in daylight.
The TTSL® CB is not only equipped with four 5-pole quick coupling sockets for the connection to various TTSL®¸-SB sensor boxes, but also features interfaces for Ethernet, ISM and GSM.
For more complex multi-installations, data exchange takes place with further installed TTSL®-MB measurement boxes via ISM – up to 63 further TTSL®-MB measurement boxes can be integrated into the installation by one single TTSL® CB via ISM radio.
And the TTSL® CB automatically connects with the cloud via the mobile network. Standard modules are GSM 2G/3G, but there are also other modules that can be assembled on request. TTSL® CB is supplied without a SIM card, thus making it possible for customers to use any SIM card provider.
The TTSL® CB is supplied with power via the power adapter supplied – also for the corded TTSL®-SB sensor boxes. Buffer supply is ensured by two integrated batteries (2.6 Ah).
The robust housing that is provided with edge protectors is multi-stackable and, thanks to the IP68 type of protection, can also be easily used in rough construction site environments.
TTSL® MB
Data logger and universal interface
As data logger, the TTSL® MB (Measurement Bridge) collects all measured values of the connected sensor boxes for retrieval by the TTSL® CB. Several TTSL® MB can be installed in parallel on site and managed by one TTSL® CB.
A simple 4-key control allows for configuration of the TTSL® MB quickly and without any difficulty. The integrated display with its integrated four-colour background illumination providing for a quick, optical response of the operating status ensures a high-contrast indication even in daylight.
Except for the GSM interface, the TTSL® MB is almost identical in terms of design to the TTSL® CB and also accommodates four 5-pole quick coupling sockets for the connection of various TTSL®-SB sensor boxes as well as an Ethernet and ISM interface.

TTSL® SB
The TTSL®-SB sensor boxes are designed as a link between the sensor system used and the data-storing measurement boxes. The sensor box processes the incoming signals and transmits them to the measurement boxes connected, in order to be stored and forwarded to the cloud.
The advantage is perfectly obvious: Instead of equipping every sensor box with all electronic equipment that is possibly required to process any sensor signals, each one of the TTSL®-SB sensor boxes is designed to be a specialist for a specific selection of sensor types. In this way, users can benefit from a cost-effective system that is easy to handle and at the same time can be individually adapted to every situation.
Every TTSL® MB/CB can be connected with several TTSL®-SB sensor boxes which are provided with various interfaces for connecting a variety of different sensors. In order to offer a maximum possible selection of sensors to be used, three different TTSL®-SB sensor boxes are available.
All sensor boxes come equipped with a 5-pole quick coupling socket at the rear for connection to a TTSL® CB or TTSL® MB via cable. The cable connection offers the advantage of permanently stable data transfer and continuous power supply at the same time.
All sensor boxes feature two plug-on protectors at the sides with integrated recesses for stacking and type of protection IP68, allowing for trouble-free application even under the roughest ambient conditions.
TTSL® SB-C
Sensor box for climate and industrial sensors
The TTSL®-SB-C sensor box offers two connection options for a variety of different sensor types:
Any industrial sensors or signal transmitters with a 4...20-mA output can be connected to the 4-pole quick coupling socket in the front position X2, thus allowing for a large variety of applications, for example the recording of pressure values, output of electricity/active power, target and actual values or numerous other applications. For wiring with the desired pulse generator, a 5-core connecting cable with a one-sided quick coupling plug in the standard length of 5 m is available.
The 4-pole quick coupling socket in the front position X3 serves to connect sensors with I2C log, for instance, the Trotec combi sensor for determining the room temperature and humidity level, the Trotec tank filling level sensor or the Trotec-Pt1000 contact temperature sensor.
Like all sensor boxes, the TTSL® SB-C is provided with a quick coupling socket at the rear on position X1, which serves to establish a cable connection with the data-receiving TTSL® MB/CB and which also supplies it with power.
The TTSL®-SB-C features two plug-on protectors at the sides with integrated recesses for stacking and is characterised by type of protection IP68, allowing for trouble-free application even under the roughest ambient conditions.
TTSL® SB-M
Sensor box for material and building moisture measurement
At the front, the TTSL®-SB-M sensor box is provided with a BNC port for cable connection with all Trotec measuring electrodes for material and construction moisture measurement. The TTSL® borehole probe can also be connected to this sensor box. The only item required for this purpose is the TC20 connecting cable from the Trotec product range. The measured values are output in digits of 0 to 100.
