Professional automatic control system for standard and special use

Each TES 200 comes equipped with different application programmes for thermal decontamination, pest control, HEPA air purification and all-round room heating function. These programmes can be adapted to the application purpose, e.g. to the respective room size, treatment type and duration or target temperature.

The DualDecon tower attachment that comes as a standard or optional accessories for the TES 200 such as the attachment hood for hose connection or the DualHeat tower attachment provide flexible equipment for many application areas.

Thanks to its sturdy wheels, the adjustable push handle and the overall robust construction, this vertical heater is ideally suited for quickly changing the application site. Set it up, connect it to the power supply, select the desired application programme and start the treatment.

The vertical heater TES 200 (1) can be operated via touchscreen. It is characterised by a powerful, air circulating fan and a high-performance heating unit that is available with heating capacities of 18 kW or up to 27 kW. In addition, various system components are available which have been designed to form a reliable synergy with the vertical heater.

As standard, the TES 200 DD is equipped with the DualDecon blowing-out tower (2).

This blowing-out tower serves for a dual decontamination application: Firstly, it provides thermal decontamination with an even 360° heat distribution throughout the room. Secondly, the device filters viruses and pollutants from the air – even in combined operation with the heating function. For this purpose, the optional H14 HEPA filter can be installed beneath the blowing-out tower. With the DualDecon blowing-out tower, the TES 200 can be used for all kinds of application areas.

Can be attached to the TES 200 instead of the blowing-out tower. Serves for both connecting the device to existing ventilation systems or to textile air distribution systems and to the connection to pipe bends. The attachment hood for hose connection (ø 300 mm) offers space for installing the H14 HEPA filter (optional) so that both exclusive or combined air purification is possible.

Flowstop shutters are also available as accessories for the DualDecon blowing-out tower. These shutters can be attached to one of the four insides of the tower. This prevents up to three sides of the tower from discharging air, e.g. if discharged air is not desired or required on the respective side(s).

H14 high-efficiency particulate air filters

H14 HEPA filter

This special heat-resistant high-performance filter (4) developed exclusively by Trotec is characterised by a degree of separation of 99.995 % with particle sizes from 0.1 to 0.2 µm and corresponds to class H14 according to EN 1822.

The efficiency of this filter ensures that 99.995 of 100.000 microparticles floating in the air will be effectively filtered!

The highlight is: Viral strains such as SARS-Cov, MERS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2 show similar particle sizes. Recent studies have specified the particle size of a coronavirus to 120 to 160 nanometres (0.12 to 0.16 µm). That's why these particle sizes can be effectively filtered with the high-performance H14 filter, especially because viruses in the air tend to accumulate with saliva or suspended matters, forming larger aerosol conglomerates.

The Trotec H14-HEPA filter is not included in the scope of delivery and is optionally available as an accessory.

DualHeat blowing-out tower

This blowing-out tower serves for a dual heating application: Firstly, for thermal treatment, directly positioned in the respective room, providing an equal 360° heat distribution. Secondly, for a connection to existing ventilation systems or textile air distribution systems. For this purpose, the DualHeat blowing-out tower (5) has already been equipped with a hose connection apparatus located at the bottom of the device. If required, the blowing-out tower can simply be turned and inserted to the TES 200. This way, the connector side provides a hose connection with ø 300 mm.

The option to turn the DualHeat blowing-out tower offers maximum flexibility to all users who do not require HEPA air filtration.

Sound protection hood

Since the sound pressure level is not specified linearly but in a logarithmic scale, a level change by 10 dB already corresponds to twice or half the sound level experienced subjectively.

The sound protection hood available as accessory part for the TES 200 and TAC V+ is able to reduce the noise emission of the device by approx. 8 dB, i.e. reduce the sound level experienced subjectively by almost 50 %. The sound protection hood is delivered including the mounting kit and can be mounted on the air inlet of the device in just a few simple steps.

Thermal disinfectors have already been reliable means in the cleaning and decontamination area. For example, they are used for disinfecting medical devices as part of a sterilisation process, or for keeping AC systems germ-free in hygienically sensitive areas.

During SARS pandemic, the WHO announced that heat at a temperature of 56 °C represents an effective measure for fighting SARS virions and it will kill 10,000 virus units of the SARS coronavirus every 15 minutes.. Regarding "hygiene measures during care and treatment of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2" in the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, the Robert Koch (RKI) also recommends that "thermal disinfection measures shall always be applied preferentially whenever possible" when cleaning and disinfection measures are being carried out.

Portable mobile unit for decontaminating rooms and inventory

Usually, previously available thermal disinfectors only are installed stationarily. Instead, the vertical heating device TES 200 is the first mobile solution on the market for professional thermal room decontamination with Integrated H14 HEPA air filtration on the market!

Rather than being installed in only one room, this special "made in Germany" heating device (exclusively available only at Trotec) can be used for treating different rooms in alternation. Once the decontamination process has been terminated, the TES 200 can simply be transported to the next location to be treated – this flexible and mobile solution is unique in the world!

Thermal treatment neutralising virulence factors

The resistance of virions is closely related to their structure and chemical components. If only one component that is crucial for cell replication or penetration is being decisively harmed by physical or chemical noxae (substances harmful to virions), the virus will lose its infectivity.

A physical quantity particularly harmful to viruses is heat. All viruses are relatively unstable if they are exposed to heat. From 55 to 70 °C, the proteins of most viruses that are responsible for infections will be denaturised, so are SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2. The virus will no longer be able to spread infections.

No virus in its natural milieu will survive heat at temperatures of 80 °C that is directly exposed at the virus particle, apart from parvo- and papovaviruses.

Integrated automatic control system for thermal disinfection

The special heating device TES 200 can be controlled via touchscreen and is equipped with different automatic programmes which can be adapted to your needs (e.g. to the respective treatment temperature or exposure times).

The automatic control system will then carry out the thermal activation process during which both room air and contact surfaces of the inventory will e.g. be heated up to ≥ 56 °C for 30 minutes. This will be an efficient inactivation process in the fight against viruses If required, the treatment duration can be extended from 30 minutes up to 24 hours. Room and surface target temperature can be increased up to 70 °C for special requirements.

Suitable for the hygienic reprocessing of disposable medical protective masks (FFP, FFP2/3) by means of thermal decontamination

Due to the lack of medical respiratory masks in the current tense situation, the crisis unit of the Federal Government recently decided to reuse such respiratory masks after an appropriate decontamination with heat.

The TES 200 is a professional alternative for drying cabinets which might not be sufficiently available anyway. Moreover, the TES 200 can be variably used for the thermal decontamination of containers providing personal protective equipment, and for entire treatment rooms or other areas where people spend time. In addition, the TES 200 is flexibly applicable as H14 virus air cleaner for large scale rooms.

During the heat treatment procedure, all respiratory masks to be reprocessed are collected in one room in order to be thermally decontaminated with the TES 200 at ≥ 70 °C for 30 minutes. If required, the treatment duration can be variably adjusted from 30 minutes to 24 hours. Due to the special temperature automatic control system and the large power reserves, the decontamination process can be operated extremely productively and without interruptions, even around the clock, if required.

Two possible application scenarios: Firstly, a TES 200 can be directly positioned in the room to be decontaminated. If smaller rooms shall be entirely filled with decontamination material, the device can also be set up outside. For this purpose, a the room needs to be accessed, e.g. via an opening in the wall/door in order to install a 90 degree pipe bend. This way, the room can be heated from the outside. Required system accessories for this purpose: Attachment hood for hose connection or DualHeat tower attachment. Now the only thing that needs to be done is to activate the integrated treatment programme. The thermal decontamination process will start running either as single decontamination per material or in permanent automatic mode while alternatingly treating the material. The permanent treatment mode serves for treating large quantities in small areas in a space- and energy-saving way.

Thermal decontamination with the TES 200 is ideal for treating both disposable medical protective masks (FFP) for mouth and nose as well as filtration half masks (disposable FFP masks). This procedure is compliant with the respective recommendation of the Federal Government!

Flexible use, not only suited for decontamination: If the decontamination shall always be carried out as single decontamination before shift changes and not as continuous process in order to treat large quantities, the TES 200 can also be used as a H14 virus air cleaner for large scale areas. In between the individual decontamination intervals, the TES 200 can effectively increase the risk of infection in large rooms such as waiting zones, corridors or other highly frequented rooms. During the next decontamination interval (e.g. of masks or personal protective equipment), the H14 virus filter in the TES 200 itself will be automatically decontaminated. This way, it can be used as decontaminated air cleaner for upcoming events where it will filter viruses from the air. This means that the TES 200 is provided with a self-regeneration function in order to fight viruses permanently. This function is unique in the world.

Thanks to its thermal decontamination function, the TES 200 is optimally suited for reprocessing medical protective masks and for decontaminating entire rooms or containers with personal protective equipment.

Heat treatment is a highly efficient procedure for pest control since insects only have very limited options to regulate their body temperature as they cannot sweat. At temperatures from 45 °C onwards, the proteins in their bodies will start to coagulate and enzymes will be destroyed.

With a conventional heating device alone, these vermin can no longer be handled. The parasites would recognise a sudden increase in heat as danger and immediately escape.

A smart automatic control system then initiates the thermal disinfestation process during which the room air temperature will slowly be increased step by step.

Afterwards, the disinfestation cycle will be launched: Both room air temperature and contact surfaces of the inventory will be heated to a temperature that can be preset up to ≤ 70 °C. Any kind of vermin within the treatment radius will then be killed. In a last step, the programme automatically starts the cooling phase.

If the TES 200 is equipped with the DualDecon blowing-out tower or the Attachment hood for hose connection the high-efficiency particulate air filter of class H14 can additionally be inserted into the TES 200.

This special heat-resistant filter is exclusively made by Trotec and is characterised by a high separation efficiency of 99.995 % for particle sizes of 0.1 to 0.2 µm. This allows the device to effectively filter bacteria and viruses from the room air.

In combination with the H14 HEPA filter, the TES 200 can also be used as a powerful air cleaner. Two fields of application are particularly well suited for an additional HEPA air purification with the TES 200:

1. HEPA air purification in combined room heating applications

The TES 200 is an unbeatable universal solution for mobile heating applications with additional air purification. For this reason, the device is ideally suited for the use in mobile hospitals and emergency camps, workshops, in party tents or for other indoor events.

Especially in the time between seasons, in spring and autumn, the air can become unexpectedly cool in the evening. During these times, the thermostat controlled TES 200 will work as a 'Compensation heater' and automatically fills the surrounding cold areas with draught-free warmth evenly and pleasantly. This way, the heater can either be used autonomously or to complement existing heating systems.

The additional HEPA air purification function of the TES 200 does not only prevent the air from excessive cooling but also from polluted and germ-laden air:

Wherever many people meet, the concentration of pathogens rises in the ambient air. Recent scientific studies indicate that "coughed up pathogens will spread for several metres within a few seconds and remain infectious in the room air up to 5 minutes."

Our appropriate countermeasure is the TES 200 for flexible compensation heating. Provided that there is a 400 V power connection, the TES 200 can be positioned anywhere where the actual heating performance is not sufficient or not even present. Simple operation

The TES 200 enables user-friendly operation via touchscreen. It comes with integrated application programmes for room heating, thermal pest control, disinfection, HEPA H14 air purification or frost monitor usage that can be adapted to the application purpose, e.g. to the respective room size, treatment duration or target temperature.

Even heat distribution

The specific flap structure of the blowing-out towers DualDecon and DualHeat ensures an even and room-filling heat distribution and also provides for heating up air and surfaces thanks to the vertical heat distribution of the device. During the heating process, the all-directional airflow principle provides for pleasant and draught-free all-round warmth in every room. During decontamination, the room will be completely filled with hot air, even in hard-to-reach places.

Main switch, fuse and connection socket for external thermostat are safely installed between two protective bars Thanks to its sturdy wheels and the adjustable push handle, the TES 200 vertical heater with robust construction is ideally suited for quickly changing the application site. Simply set it up, connect it to the power supply, select the desired application programme and start the treatment.
