Give your projects the right finish with Trotec sanding tools
When it comes to processing surfaces, there is practically no other way than using a grinding machine. But which sanding tool is best suited for which field of application?
- Belt sander
Belt sanders, such as the PBSS 10-600, are the ideal tools for quickly sanding large, rough surface structures. PBSS 10-600 They allow you, for instance, to remove stubborn wallpaper residue or floor paint as well as old glazes on doors or garden furniture. Furthermore, belt sanders can also be used as stationary tools for bevelling laths, evening out battens or deburring threaded rods – and even for removing rust from iron parts, just to mention a few applications.
- Orbital sanders
For the material removal on somewhat smaller surfaces an orbital sander makes for a very good alternative to a belt sander. Instead of a rotating abrasive belt the orbital sander has a sanding plate that oscillates at a high frequency – in case of a conventional orbital sander this plate is rectangular.
- Delta sanders
The delta sander is an especially shaped orbital sander. With the oscillating triangular sanding plate you can easily reach edges and corners.
- Random orbital sanders
Unlike the other grinding machines, the random orbital sander comes with a simultaneously oscillating and rotating sanding plate. The eccentric motion of the plate makes the random orbital sander a better choice for the fine and finish grinding as well as polishing of all surfaces.
- Multi-purpose grinders
Multi-functional sanders combine the application range of various grinding tools in one device – the PMSS 10-220, for instance, can be used as orbital sander, delta sander and random orbital sander. PMSS 10-220 An clear advantage for the user consists in the needlessness to buy three individual appliances which means a considerable cost reduction.
- Angle grinders
Most notably, these grinding machines are used in the sector of metal processing. Angle grinders can be used to cut through sheet metal, pipes or profiles as well as to derust or polish metal surfaces. There is a wealth of abrasive wheels that can be attached to an angle grinder, thus you can cover a wide range of applications with this grinding tool.
- Straight grinders
Such die grinders are ideally suited for the selective grinding of metal. Depending on the application different abrasive products can be inserted and used with a preselectable rotation speed. With straight grinders you can sand off and derust metals, smooth down weld seams or deburr workpieces. Due to their narrow grinding head, straight grinders can reach almost any location such as the interior walls of pipes.
- Stationary grinders
Unlike the afore-mentioned grinding machines this pedestal or bench grinder is only intended for stationary use. Depending on the application, there are a number of stationary grinders available. The bench grinder with abrasive wheels of different grain size on both sides is the ideal tool to sharpen drill bits or cutting tools such as scissors or knives. With an integrated belt sander the application field is extended to the coarse and fine sanding of wood or soft metal.
